Savvy Minerals Makeup: Here’s The Scoop!

In Young Living by Dr. SharnaelLeave a Comment

It’s time for something better. Let’s clean up your makeup bag!

The Savvy Minerals Makeup line was originally founded by Melissa Poepping. Young Living has now purchased her company for the enjoyment of all Young Living members around the world!

It has absolutely NO talc, bismuth, mineral oil, parabens, gluten, nano particles, pthalates, petrochemicals, synthetic fragrance, synthetic colorants, and dyes. Also it is Cruelty-free!

There is Beeswax in lipstick, lip gloss, and the mascara (back in stock soon) but the rest of the line is vegan!

The powder is same as her original formula. Not the lipstick or lip gloss though. That’s a new formula.

If you don’t like a color of a lipstick or eye shadow, they can’t be returned… Instead you can use them to create new colors by mixing and blending them with other colors or adding a gloss. It changes the color. Same for shadows. Be creative and create your own fun colors!

There are plans for some more fun colors and products to be released in the coming years! Here is the current color chart:

The brushes are made in Italy out of high quality synthetic fibers so they can be vegan and cruelty-free. They feel INCREDIBLE!!! They have a good base to hold onto and the length is perfect. Every brush in the set HAS A PURPOSE unlike other collections where there always seems to be a brush or two has no purpose! LOL! Like what is that even for?! Not only that, but they are LABELED with what to use them for and specifically designed to work the best with mineral makeup! AND THEY ARE SOOO SOFT and effective!

Savvy Misting Spray 2 fl oz

When applying your makeup, it is not the same to spray water on your brush. Be sure to wash your face and then prime your face first with ART renewal system which helps hold in your skin hydration. Then follow with ART moisturizer. Spray the misting spray onto the brush three times. Brush excess on the back of your hand to disperse through the brush. Then dip into the mineral foundation and apply – you will get a deeper look with your foundation and better coverage as well as a nice base. For more coverage – spray the brush again once and build where required.

Multi Tasker Deep Brown

This makeup line is SO VERSATILE! You can do so much with it! You can go light with a 5 min natural look or go strong with it and get a totally made up look! Go from day to evening makeup easy! The multitasker can be an eyeliner, eyeshadow, eyebrow, and hair filler all in one. There will be more mulitasker colors coming out. Add it to your dry shampoo to touch up your roots!

Multitasker (Item #20794, wholesale $20.75, retail $27.30)

ingredients: micas, populus tremuloides bark extract

  • Dark Brown — (use as eyeliner, brow filler, eyeshadow and to cover gray hair)

Summer Loved Bronzer

The colors for contouring are Summer Loved, Crowned All Over, and Diamond Dust. Brush Summer Loved bronzer on hollows of cheek -it’s a shadow line. Then apply Crowned All Over above that on cheek bones. It can also be used as all over warmth as a bronzer. Same with Summer Loved. Diamond Dust is the veil. Brush over forehead, chin, down the bridge of nose, and under eyes. Put it where the sun hits. The Veil sets everything. It’s like a highlighter. It’s a quick fix and refresher. There may be plans of a contouring kit in the works as well. If you are looking for makeup tips – Young Living has make-up tips with Melissa on their Youtube channel!

Best Kept Secret!

How long does it last and does it crease? So the misting spray has an aloe base to it that helps get that silky finish for foiling to make eyeshadows last ALL DAY! To get a foiled look – Spray the eyeshadow brush, pick up minerals onto the brush, and then apply. You will get a much richer, bolder, color than applying dry. Matte nude color locks in base primers. Apply dry. Eye shadow goes over that primer. “Best kept secret” eye shadow pulls shimmer out. It mattes a shimmer. Residual is a white highlight. Apply to corners of eyes and under eye brow.

Eye Shadow, 8 shades (wholesale $15.25, retail $20.07)

Residual Eyeshadow

Ingredients: Micas, Populus tremuloides bark extract, Tin oxide

  • Best Kept Secret (matte nude)
  • Residual (pale beige shimmer)
  • Wanderlust (pale white shimmer)
  • Spoiled (matte pink)
  • Crushin’ (nude peach with light shimmer)
  • Determined (medium brown shimmer)
  • Diffused (matte plum)
  • Unscripted (matte warm purple)
  • Inspired (light mauve shimmer)
  • Freedom (golden green)

Matte Black Eyeliner

Be sure to get the eyeliner brush. You can apply it dry or wet. A contact lense case works great for mixing up some liquid eyeliner. Spray the misting spray into the case and then add the eyeliner powder before brushing on to your eyelash line. 🙂

Match colors on your chin so you can be sure to get the shade that will blend well into the neck.

1. Check Your Veins
Push your sleeves up and look at the veins on the inside of your wrist. Are they blue or green? If they look more blue, you likely have cool undertones. If the veins look greenish, you’re warm.

2. The Jewelry Trick
Think about whether you look better in silver or gold jewelry Typically, girls with cool undertones look better in silver and platinum metals, and warm-toned women look better in gold.

3. The Neutral Test
Think about what neutral shades flatter you best. Does your skin, eyes, and face look better in bright white and black hues, or ivory, off-whites, and brown/tan shades? The former means you’re probably cool-toned, and the latter, warm.

4. Eye and Hair Color
Your natural eye and hair colors can help figure out your coloring. Customarily, cool people have eyes that are blue, gray, or green and have blond, brown, or black hair with blue, silver, violet and ash undertones. Conversely, warm-toned women usually have brown, amber, or hazel eyes with strawberry blond, red, brown, or black hair. Their hair tends to have gold, red, orange, or yellow undertones.

5. The Sun’s Effects
When you’re out in the sun, does your skin turn a golden-brown, or does it burn and turn pink first? If you fit into the former category, you’re warm-toned, while cool tones tend to burn.

Our mascara is coming out in August! I got to try it out at Convention! It is light, natural, and feels amazing. Here’s a pro Savvy Minerals tip. If you choose a thicker looking mascara. Take your eyeshadow brush, dip it in a little bit of diamond dust as “fibers” and tap it over your eyelashes. Then apply another layer of mascara!
